  • ACTIVITIES ON HOLD:  Due to some of our volunteer coordinators being unavailable to run groups (holidays, family commitments etc ) these more specialised activities are on hold: belly dancing, mosaics, mud club pottery, kayaking.  If you happen to have expertise or special skills in these areas and keen to volunteer please contact us at [email protected]  A reminder we don't have a contact phone number as we have no full time admin support – CWS is run by volunteers.

  • GARDENING AND VEGE GROWING:  For those keen gardeners with limited space, are you aware that the Vege Village in Peregian Beach (behind the new community Centre) is the place to go?  They have a range of individual and community garden beds and activities in which to participate. http://veggievillage.org.au/ [email protected]  There is a range of other Community Vege Gardens across the Sunshine Coast.

  • BOOK SWAP:  Are you aware that we have a broad range of books in our library, these are available for loan or to swap.  Check out the variety of books when you come to an activity at the Shed or pop in when we are open.

  • COOL - IT TRAINING SESSIONS FOR HELLO CLUB AND BAND:  We understand the challenge of learning our tech & booking systems.  Volunteer Coordinators and members are invited to attend individual IT tech sessions at the Shed every 2nd Thurs of the month at10.30am.  Book a timeslot on Hello Club and the lovely Georgia and Ric will guide you in these sessions.

  • DEMO DAYS:  Demos continue to run as requested by our members.  Check Hello Club for more opportunities before and during Creative Connections (now runs once per month)..  A Demo Days chat group has been set up on Band so you can add activities you would like to see covered.

  • ACTIVITIES, MEETUPS AND WORKSHOPS BOOKINGS - on HELLO CLUBREMINDER always book & pay on Hello Club, if you are unsure how to do this ask your activity volunteer coordinator or a member of the Committee or attend COOL IT training sessions. The activities calendar and links to Hello Club can also be found on the CWS website www.thewomensshed.org

  • BAND: (app, chat platform for updates on our groups) when you become a member you can access Band for the latest news. Remember to check FEED and GROUP CHATS for general CWS updates and information.

  • VOLUNTEERING AT CWS: activities & events are conducted by our team of volunteers. Without their support, we cannot conduct our low-cost activities. Several tasks are required to set up, supervise, check attendance and support the activity. Greetings Sheddies.

A big welcome to new members who joined the Walk Group, Sketchy Gals (drawing), Brainiacs (cards & games), Belly Dancing and OTT (On the Tools). We are very pleased to meet women from all over the Sunshine Coast who are now participate across a range of our activities.

  • CWS MEMBER SURVEY: The short Activity Survey / Questionnaire on CWS Website is still open for responses. Please take the time to provide important feedback so we can continue to plan, expand and provide quality activities for our community of women.

  • OTT (ON THE TOOLS): come and learn how to use our band saw, table saw, thicknesser etc. Recently we have been making cheese boards and tea light holders out of camphor laurel slabs. Bring your own project or join us on ours.

  • SHED SPRING CLEAN / WORKING BEE: A big thank you to our small band of volunteers who did an amazing job clearing and sorting equipment in the storeroom, our admin/craft room and Tool Shed. Thank you to those who previously donated goods.
