Member meetups and regular classes
Our regular meetups change with seasons and volunteer availability - please check the online calendar for dates and times and book in using our Hello Club Bookings System.
In booking to attend our activities you are agreeing to abide by our code of conduct. Disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated. A copy of our code of conduct can be found here.
Book Clubs There are three book clubs each meeting once per month over lunch or dinner. There are currently openings in the Monday book club which meets over lunch in Yandina.
Brainiacs - Cards & Games Come & join us on Thursdays and Saturdays from 1-4pm for fun card & board games. Chance to learn, share & increase your skills. Meet other like-minded Sheddies.
Creative Connections - Craft & Chat Suitable for people wanting to work on creative projects in the company of other members. Bring your Arts, Crafts or anything you deem as creative! Members may be able to help, but they are there to work on their own projects. BYO materials or limited items available at the shed. Held on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the Month.
Creative Connections - Sewing Our sewing gurus will be available to assist you with sewing projects on the 4th Thursday of the month. still bring your craft projects if you like, or just come for a chat.
Drawing Group - Sketchy Gals Saturday, twice a month -Try different drawing and art techniques and share tips and ideas. Beginners are welcome, although this group is essentially self-taught. We are making time to dedicate time to practice drawing and improve our skills through shared experience. Please bring your own materials.
Gentle Slow Flow Yoga This Gentle Flow Yoga class is open to all ages and abilities, suitable for beginners or people looking for a gentler class
Kayaking – Women on Weyba - on hold Do you want to get out and about on the beautiful waterways of the sunshine coast? Join us for this informal session to try a variety of kayaks and SUPs at beautiful Lake Weyba. Bring a picnic and enjoy the view and try out a few different kayaks.
Mahjong Join us for a fun session of Mahjong. All welcome from absolute beginners to experienced -players. If you have your own set, please bring it along. Second and Third Tuesdays 1-3pm.
On The Tools (OTT) DIY Meetup On the Tools is a new group where we try a variety of 'DIY' projects, and solutions. The OTT meetup is a chance to access the tools in an informal environment. Attendance fee covers use of tools and consumables within reason (sandpaper, screws etc, earplugs). A limited amount of scrap wood is available. Please bring your own materials if you have something specific to make. Beginners welcome, PPE is available at the shed. Please ensure that you are wearing closed in shoes and observe safety protocols.
Currently, we are focusing on making items for the shed using the materials that we already have. This gives us a chance to see what tool to use where and get acquainted with using the tools safely. Sessions usually start with a discussion about what we want to attempt that day.
Resistance Training Small group resistance training open to all levels. We will be working on resistance, balance and functional movements. Book in 5 weekly blocks. Wednesday & Friday.
Restorative Yoga and Meditation Join Simone for a five week program looking at "The Five Elements". Discover and honour the elements, connecting to a different element each week through a restorative yoga and meditation practice. Appropriate for all levels.
Shed Jazz This is a Jazz Musician’s fellowship group and meets on Monday afternoons for a jam session concentrating on swing and latin standards from ‘the Great American Songbook’.. It is a joint project of the Coolum Men’s and Women’s Sheds and is open to men and women. Participants are mostly working or retired musicians. Improvisation is a mainstay of the session. Experience is required and no tuition is provided.
Walking group Join other walkers each Tuesday and or Wednesday for an hour's walk followed by coffee at a local café. Meet outside the toilets in Tickle Park at 7.30am. On the first Tuesday of the month and third Wednesday, the walk will leave from another point - please book in to get the latest info. No dogs, please.
