Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct applies at all times when Management Committee, members and visitors are on the premises; as well as representing the Coolum Women’s Shed in the community.  
You are deemed to accept the Code of Conduct when you agree to purchase membership for The Coolum Women’s Shed.
  • Leave your pets at home.  We recognise the benefits pets bring to many, but we have a strict no pets policy for all our activities for the benefit of all.
  • ​Be a positive and respectful role model to all and follow Coolum Women’s Shed rules, policies and procedures and promote these to others.
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of others, show due consideration, including their right to privacy.
  • Protect and respect confidential information obtained through the Coolum Women’s Shed activities; whether an individuals and/or organisational information.
  • Maintain a duty of care towards others.  Behave and communicate, in a non-aggressive, non-derogatory, non-judgemental manner.  Refrain from any form of bullying eg. abuse, harassment, discrimination or victimisation towards others.  Accept responsibility for your behaviour and actions.
  • Create a safe, positive and inclusive environment for all women to participate, be connected, learn and share, so as to foster individual empowerment and self-responsibility, in accordance with any relevant Coolum Women’s Shed policies.​
  • Respect and handle property belonging to The Coolum Women’s Shed with care and diligence: seek direction if you do not know how to operate equipment, tools or machinery, or any item that requires direction. Seek out proper instruction prior to  use. SAFETY FIRST, ALWAYS!
  • Attend activities,  workshops, classes and events with positivity, creativity and an openness to try, and willingness to support, new things. 
  • Refrain from representing The Coolum Women’s Shed, unless properly authorised to do so.
  • The Coolum Women’s Shed is both apolitical and secular and will accept support from any denomination and political party interested in the development of the group within the Community. Equally, The Coolum Women’s Shed will decline support from any political party or denomination looking to create a platform of a political, religious or ideological nature.​
