Hi Sheddies,

We had a great time visiting Annie's place this weekend, lots of inspiration!  Due to health and safety, you must have completed an introductory workshop before you attend other mosaic workshops and activities (except for the shop visit!).  We will run introductory workshops a few times a year, so please let us know if you want to go on a waiting list.

Mosaics:
Mosaics outing 23rd March to local supplier - final details tbc, but you can book here: https://coolumwomensshed.as.me/?appointmentType=20329784
Mosaics introduction (3 spots left) - Easter Saturday 2nd April book here: https://coolumwomensshed.as.me/?appointmentType=20324626
Regular Mosaic meetup on 4th Tuesday of the month (must have completed Mosaic Introduction with Annie before attending): https://coolumwomensshed.as.me/?appointmentType=20329784

Book club bookings:
Women that run with the Wolves, at the shed every 2nd Thursday 6.30pm - working through the book of the same name, we are up to chapter 10 - clear water nourishing https://coolumwomensshed.as.me/?appointmentType=13446213
Sheddies off the shelf Friday evening with dinner out, every 5 weeks : https://coolumwomensshed.as.me/?appointmentType=20325671
Cool Readers Friday lunchtime with lunch out, every 6 weeks : https://coolumwomensshed.as.me/?appointmentType=20325891

Messy Play/ Colour Crew meetup this Saturday (2nd Saturday of the month)
This meetup is for giving yourself a longer time to work on projects with the girls. We haven't had time to plan anything specifically.
Nell`might try the tie dye with bleach technique as she has a lot of dark clothes that need revamping.

We haven't had time to prepare any eco dye stuff but Natalie has found us a fabulous teacher, so we will be organising that soon.
Another option is to try some handbuilt clay fun.
It's a meetup, so everyone is responsible for helping set up and leaving the place as you found it ;-).

10-3 gives you time for a lunch break, and a walk out the back to scavenge for materials if you need them :-) (like the 'wild weaving' that someone shared last week....). People that want to are welcome to stay longer, but they need to lock up

book here: https://coolumwomensshed.as.me/?appointmentType=14971266.

Monthly goddess gathering  starts 29th Feb-
Indulge yourself with a 2 hour session guided by Simone. Includes restorative yoga, meditation and intention setting for the month ahead, 4th Friday of the month, dress comfy,  book here:  https://coolumwomensshed.as.me/?appointmentType=10787799

Walkers further afield  Our trip this month was the tanglewood track at Noosa national park, it was a beautiful day. The next further afield outing will be Sunday 8th March to celebrate international Women's Day. We will be going for brunch afterwards. Further details to come. https://coolumwomensshed.as.me/?appointmentType=16069878

Member Survey
Thank you to those of you that have responded to the survey. We are asking members to wear their membership id at the shed, so that people can see our names. Membership cards and Lanyards are available at the shed - just pick up when you next visit  . If you haven't already done so, please complete our very short survey as this will help the committee plan the year ahead - it's anonymous. The survey is open to non-members and members and can be accessed here . https://www.thewomensshed.org/2020-survey.html

Studio news
We were super excited to find out that the Gambling Benefit Community Fund has approved our revision to the grant received this year. We don't want to say too much, but we might have our own messy play shed soon. We will keep you posted! Thank you to the members who helped out with obtaining this funding last year, and to those who have helped with the variation request.

Keeping up with what's on
  • Don't rely on facebook - it takes a long time to get all the activities on and up to date. Facebook is our way of showing non members what we do, and we don't always have the time to keep it up to date. Facebook wants us to pay them to show you our info, and that makes Nell grumpy ;-)
  • Newsletter - when we have time- we have had good feedback about the newsletter - but it takes a while to put together. We will try our best ;-)
  • Website - if it's up for general booking, it's available on the website.
  • Our Band App is private only to members, includes a calendar and you can ask questions about what's coming up. It works well on phones and tablets. You can also contact other members via the chat option.
  • We have just started a 6 month trial with meetup as it seems to offer a lot of info to people with shared interests, check it out her:

HELP needed!
  • If you have skills in Facebook or Instagram, we would love some help - especially in making sure our Facebook events are setup to match the calendar.
  • DIY coordinator - we have had someone come forward - if anyone would like to share this role please get in touch. If you are passionate about learning DIY we are still looking for someone (or two peeps) who can put their hands up to organise DIY sessions. We have some tools, we have some ideas, but we need someone to be that person who takes responsibility.  You can choose the frequency and timing of the session, so even if you just want to organise 'one-off' workshops or a monthly meetup, lets talk :-) We have had offers of help from the Coolum Men's Shed - you don't need to teach, just organise.
  • Legal guidance - as our projects get bigger we are asked to sign contracts and agreements - are you someone that has the right skill set?
  • Fundraisers-can you teach us some inside tips on how to fund the Women's Shed? Or do you have the connections to run a one-off fundraiser? Any other ideas?
  • PR and Marketing - Help us get the word out about the Women's Shed.
  • Admin - if you have a home computer and internet we can find something for you to do!!

Please email us if you are able to help out for these roles or any other ways you might want to help.

General Info
We will be publishing a printable planner as things are finalised. If you want direct access to our live calendar you can view it here .You can also add it to your own calendar app with this ics link .
https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/cwsroster%40gmail.com/public/basic.ics

Bookings are required for all our activities, the booking page is on the website : https://www.thewomensshed.org/bookings.html. NB we require a minimum of 4 bookings to run an activity, and volunteers may reschedule if we can't see that you are booked in - so please don't leave booking until the last minute.

Current members can arrange to meetup via our Band App. It's like Facebook without the ads. We have also created a members only Facebook group for members that prefer FB. You can join it here
:-)

Don't forget we also have some yoga classes and a meditation that you can access anytime on the members section of our website. If you have forgotten your login, just ask for a new password with the email address you registered with us.

Support the Women's Shed
  • Gift someone a membership (our memberships are 12 month rolling , so it will last until December 2021).
  • 3 sessions on the pottery wheel and an introductory lesson for $100 or $150 for 2 people - this is to fund the wheels, so if we get enough sold we will be able to buy our very own pottery wheels!  book here: one person - https://coolumwomensshed.as.me/?appointmentType=19842476,  two people : https://coolumwomensshed.as.me/?appointmentType=19842654
  • Buy products with our designs including women's shed tops - We even have masks with our designs on!  We also have some lovely journals - so you can treat yourself and be ready for our Goddess meetups starting at the end of January.
