Group Co-ordinator
Would you like to organise a regular meetup around an area of interest? Our groups are like mini-clubs and are a great way to get to know other women with similar interests. We already have people interested in forming a photography group. Other areas could be a board games meet up or a book club, we just need someone willing to put their hand up to co-ordinate. Activities don't have to be at the shed, maybe you want to find some people to go kayaking with or to play netball. Whatever your idea, get in touch and we can put a shout out to our members to see if anyone would be interested. We prefer each group to have a minimum of two coordinators -half the effort, double the fun! Helping out at fundraisers or workshops Happy to just turn up and put out chairs? Or just checking attendees off a list, opening up or closing the shed for workshops and events? Sausage Sizzles? These jobs are one offs but they are invaluable because they help the rest of the team to use their volunteering time in other areas. It's also a great way to really feel part of whats happening at the shed. Volunteer Co-ordinator We're in need of someone who can help keep a list of all our lovely volunteers, their availability and their area of interests. This will assist our other volunteers to find people to help them on short term projects when required. Fundraising Co-ordinator Do you have an idea that you would like to organise for the shed? You don't need to take on all fundraisers - if you have one event that you think would work and would be happy to organise please get in touch. Health & Safety Coordinator Are you able to help us ensure we are following health and safety protocols for our activities? Do you have some background in OH&S or Workplace Health & Safety that you could share with us? Please get in touch. Cooking Are you a whizz in the kitchen? Do you love cooking up goodies to share? If you are able to volunteer to make sharing plates or nibbles for workshops and events please get in touch. Writing grants We have a great grants team that meet weekly and its through their amazing dedication that we are able to do so many things. We are always on the look out for people who can assist with applying for grants so if you would like to help please let us know. Instructors / teachers (volunteer/paid) Our main goal is to bring women together through participation. Imagine walking into any class or workshop and knowing that there will always be people there that you know. Do you have a skill that you would like to share with our members? We try to limit the cost of our activities to maximise participation - some people are happy to donate their time or run courses for us at a reduced cost in order to achieve this. We may be also be able to cover the cost of materials. |
Social media assistants
We get messages daily to our Facebook and Instagram pages - we need people to volunteer to check our messages and either reply or forward them onto the right person. If you can cover 1 day a week (i.e. log in once on that day) please get in touch. Post schedulers and social media strategy Do you understand the intricacies of FB and Insta? We would love someone who is experienced in using advertising and post scheduling to help us get our message out. Most of the content is generated by our team, but we need someone who can make sure our posts are shown in the right places at the right time to get maximum effect. Booking system admin This is a great job if you have an eye for detail and would rather volunteer from home. We need people who can create our events and workshops on our booking system, and make sure they are added to the Facebook events listing. We can train you on the system, but you will need to commit to looking at this weekly. Asset manager- Filled! We have lots of donated items to keep track of. Are you able to create a list of our stuff so we can keep track of where it came from and where it is? Marketing and circulating press releases We would love to chat to someone about our marketing strategy - if you are able to give us some pointers or help out yourself please get in touch Manage our member resources directory This is a list of teachers and facilitators that have offered classes at our shed and a list of service providers who have offered to help our members but may not be suited to the class/workshop format. E.g. counselling services, discounts on products or services etc. It will also include a list of thanks and sponsors. Shed Talks Do you have an area of expertise you would like to share in the form of a talk? Shed talks are a great way to share your message. Often our talks are run by people that are also running classes or workshops so it's a great way to find out more. |
